The executive director of the National Investment Council (CNI), Jacqueline Foglia, announced that manufacturing, energy and the Palmerola International Airport are the main axes of interest for investors at the end of 2020.

According to Foglia, the economic war between the United States and China has led different international companies to set their eyes on Honduras.

"US policy has given preference to companies that have not been doing business with China and in China, therefore, it represents, especially for the Honduran manufacturing sector, opportunities to attract investment to our country," he said.

In addition, there is also interest in the energy business, taking into account that Honduras presents shortcomings between generation, price volatility, unbalanced loads and frequent power failures.

"For investors who offer services and electrical products it is a great opportunity and there is interest in knowing if there are tenders with opportunities to offer their products and services," he explained.

In the same way, the Palmerola International Airport is of interest to logistics services companies that will be needed in their operations, in addition to the fact that the air terminal would come to modernize the Comayagua Valley.

"There is interest in knowing what the master plan around Comayagua is, we have worked together with the local development committee of the entire valley and with some of the municipalities to help promote this sector as an investment area," he stressed.
