ProChile, Chile's promotion agency, through its commercial office in Paraguay, virtually summoned important references from the Paraguayan and Chilean energy sectors to the Non-Conventional Renewable Energy (ERNC) and Energy Efficiency (EE) business e-rounds . The meetings were rated as successful and beneficial by the participants.
The rounds were carried out online between Chilean companies from the energy sector and Paraguayan counterparts from the public and private sectors, in order to generate alliances and complement the hydroelectric energy available with other sources, such as solar and wind, as well as optimize its use with energy efficient solutions. online entre empresas chilenas del sector energético y contrapartes paraguayas de los sectores público y privado, con el fin de generar alianzas y complementar la energía hidroeléctrica disponible con otras fuentes, como la solar y la eólica, así como optimizar su uso con soluciones de eficiencia energética.
The opening of the meeting had the participation of the Chilean ambassador in Paraguay Jorge Ulloa, who gave some allusive words. Likewise, Eng. Carlos Zaldívar, Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy of Paraguay; and David Rau, vice president of the Chilean Solar Energy Association.
“Clearly, Paraguay is a large producer of hydroelectric energy; however, it is necessary to think about the diversification of the energy matrix ”, said Ulloa at the beginning. “This country has great advantages, it has a territory where the sun is predominant and where demand was growing, even before the pandemic, at a rate of 300 kW / year. For this reason, we would like our compatriots in Chile to see that there are opportunities here ”.
Likewise, the participants sent their congratulations and messages of thanks for the management of said office. One of the attendees recognized the "efficient" support of ProChile in the internationalization of Chilean companies, achieving the award of important projects in the country.
On the other hand, it is important to mention that since the beginning of social isolation due to the coronavirus, ProChile organized virtual meetings, so that bilateral trade relations were not stopped, using different telematic platforms, such as Zoom and Teams.
