A positive assessment of the first export meeting of the year was made by the general director of ProChile, Jorge O'Ryan, after analyzing the results of the two days of business rounds held within the framework of e-Enexpro Mining Suppliers 2020, the export meeting for providers of goods and services for mining organized by ProChile and which for the first time was carried out completely online on August 26 and 27.
The results of the activity accounted for 402 meetings actually held. Based on the information from the surveys answered by the 46 participating importers, contracts for more than US $ 14 million are projected for the next twelve months.
The General Director of ProChile said that “beyond the numbers, which by themselves are very good news for national companies in circumstances of pandemic and economic difficulties, he highlighted the feedback from international buyers in the sense of praising the capacity, the experience and professionalism of Chilean mining suppliers ”.
"Our commitment is to follow up on these first contacts and do everything possible so that these projections are materialized and are an effective contribution to the development and economic growth of the country," added O'Ryan.
During the two days that e-ENEXPRO Mining Suppliers lasted, two seminars and four workshops were held, which brought together more than 300 people.
The voice of the participants
The invited importers had positive words for the event held by ProChile. “They were very interesting days, there are very attractive proposals. Chile has a lot to offer, in Ecuador we are starting mining production and I think it is very good to take advantage of all the potential that Chilean companies have so that Ecuadorian mining is favored ", says Oswaldo Fierro, from Minga Service.
Australian Mark Cooper, from PM Eleven, says that this is the third time he has participated in an activity like this. "It is always an opportunity to meet companies that can collaborate with our business," he says. "This year I considered that it would be a challenge due to the virtual management of the event, but the platform worked quite well," he adds.
From the national companies, Claudio Ramírez, representative of the company Yoy Training, says that “the fact of being able to previously upload our material to the platform allowed the counterparts with whom we met to already know about our offer. That made the meetings we held have an initial impact of interest and allowed us to schedule a new meeting to discuss issues in greater depth ”.
Rodrigo Herrera, general manager of 2CR, comments that "the expectations of completing new businesses are positive, since we managed to get them to know us and request information about our different services to study them and generate future more extensive meetings with the team of specialists."
e-ENEXPRO Mining Suppliers 2020 brought together 200 national companies from nine regions of the country with 46 importers from key markets for the sector such as Australia, Canada, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. This activity is added to the development, publication, distribution and dissemination of a digital directory of suppliers of goods and services for mining, a document that will serve as a key input for the international promotion of national companies in the sector.
